Framing is a family craft here, now in its third generation. It started with our grandfather. He worked at the Lira factory in Český Krumlov, where he developed new mouldings and finishes and optimised production processes and technology. He built his own tools for the job, and some of his clever fixes we still use in the workshop today.

Our father learned the eye and the hands from him. He went into maintenance at Lira and then struck out on his own — that's how RDH Rámy began, in 1994. He started in a small garage and, piece by piece, rebuilt an old cowshed into the large workshop we still use today. He framed batch orders for a shop in the centre of Český Krumlov and for Bauhaus and other chains, sourcing his own mouldings from Slovakia and finishing them by hand.

Batch production couldn't sustain itself. In 2012 we closed the Krumlov shop and turned to custom framing. Today it's father and son framing for you, every frame by hand, one at a time. Each work gets the same care: first we ask where it will hang and how long it needs to last, only then do we choose the moulding, mount and glass.

We frame the way we'd frame for ourselves.
