what's involved

For a signed print or a limited edition, one thing decides its future value: how it was framed. An acid mat and ordinary glass will, over the years, yellow the work, cover it in brown spots and fade the pigments — and the collector's value is gone. That is why we frame prints, lithographs and artist's editions by conservation methods only: acid-free mats, pH-neutral tapes, Tru Vue museum glass with a UV filter up to 99 %. Every sheet is mounted reversibly, so it can always be safely removed.

what you get

Acid-free materials

Archival mats and pH-neutral mounting. No acid boards quietly destroying the print from within.

UV protection

Tru Vue glass with a UV filter up to 99 % protects the pigments from fading. Museum Glass for works where you want to risk nothing.

Reversible mounting

We mount the sheet so it can always be removed without damage. No permanent glue on the work itself.

Matting with care

200+ mat shades — single, double, fabric. We design the proportions to the work, not to a template.

Protecting value

For signed prints and limited editions we recommend the level of protection that holds the collector's value.

Mounting certificate

On request we issue a certificate describing the materials and techniques used — proof for insurance and for future restorers.

questions and answers

Why does acid-free matting matter for prints?

Ordinary board contains acids that gradually cause yellowing and brown spots (foxing). An acid-free mat prevents this and so protects the value of the work too.

What is reversible mounting?

The work is mounted so it can always be removed without damage. We use no permanent glues directly on the sheet — which is essential for collectible prints.

Is museum glass worth it?

For signed prints, limited editions and works exposed to light, absolutely — it protects against 99 % of UV and prevents the pigments fading. For ordinary reproductions a cheaper option is enough.

How much does framing a print cost?

It depends on the size, the mat and the type of glass. We tell you the price upfront and with no obligation — and we always offer both a conservation and a more economical option, so you can decide by the work's value.
