what's involved
A badly stretched canvas ripples, sags and cracks at the corners within a few years — and no frame can save it. A canvas lives or dies by what sits underneath it. That's why we stretch by hand, pull by pull, onto a quality keyed stretcher bar you can re-tension over time. Whether it's an original oil, a canvas print or an old canvas in need of re-stretching, it gets even tension across the whole surface first — and only then do we talk about the decorative frame.
what you get
A canvas that holds for years
We stretch by hand, pull by pull. Even tension means no ripples, no sagging and no cracks in the corners.
Keyed bars, not a makeshift job
Quality wooden stretcher bars with keys. When the canvas slackens over time, you simply tap the keys and the tension returns.
Large formats without distortion
We stretch canvases up to 250 × 150 cm. Large formats get a cross brace so the bar never bows.
Decorative frame to suit
We add a floating frame for a modern effect, or a classic Larson-Juhl profile. You pick the look, we mind the craft.
A second life for an old canvas
We lift the old canvas off its tired bar, clean it and stretch it onto a new one. Often cheaper than you'd expect.
Premium canvas printing
From your file or photograph we print the canvas and stretch it on the spot. One supplier, one responsibility.
how it works
You bring in the canvas or oil painting. We assess its condition and propose a solution.
We choose a suitable stretcher bar and any decorative frame. For older canvases we judge whether restoration is needed.
We hand-stretch the canvas onto the keyed bar, ensuring even tension and proper anchoring.
We add the decorative frame and hanging system, then hand the piece over.

questions and answers
What's the difference between a stretcher bar and a decorative frame?
The stretcher bar (keyed bar) is the load-bearing frame the canvas is pulled over. The decorative frame fits around it as an aesthetic element — and it's optional; a floating frame or a bare stretched canvas looks great on its own.
Can you stretch a canvas print too?
Yes. We stretch original oils as well as prints on canvas — photos, reproductions, your own artwork. And if the canvas still needs printing, we'll handle that.
How much does stretching a canvas cost?
We quote upfront and with no commitment — it's based on size and the type of stretcher bar. Basic stretching starts from a few hundred crowns; you'll get an exact figure at the consultation.
How do I look after a stretched canvas?
Keep it out of direct sun and damp. If it slackens over time, simply tap the keys to re-tension it. For valuable pieces we recommend a backing board — it then lasts for generations.
